Un petit chat d'Amboise.

The Loire River!

Château in Amboise!

Living in Frnce it's hard not to become an addict of Nutella. They eat it on everything: crêpes, bananas, croissants, icecream, you name it.

(Malin and a giant Nutella jar...)

We held a strict diet during our trip to the Loire Valley: French food!

(Frida eating hot soup d'oignon with long cheese threads)

...and cake from a typical French boulangerie!

We found the souvenir shop inside of the biggest tower!

I could picture myself living in this tower...

...I wouldn't need any of the rest of the castle!

No, no photoshoping here, I promise!

Well, Paris do have generally expensive hotels, but to camp a couple of hundred meters from the Eiffel Tower, in the smallest parc ever and in the middle of winter seems a little extreme to me...

Blois by day. On our way up to the castle!

My faithful companions on this trip: Susanna, Frida, Malin o Mikaela!

We made our Loire Valley journey all about experiencing French fortresses and food..

(Here Malin drinks the wine "Cheverny", from the chateau with the same name which we visited earlier that day. It was an excellent white wine, fresh and dry with a hint of apples. Yum!)

Look how nice we had it in the small town of Blois!

We found the cosiest French resturant ever... and ate a perfect bloddy steak (me) and "raie" = ray (Frida and Malin)

Pizza oven?

Who wouldn't want to have one of these at home?

Chenonceau is built like a bridge across the river Cher.

La cuisine à Château Chenonceau

Parc de Chenonceau

I think all handles from now on should end like this one!

May it be a château that has caught my eye?

Yes, indeed it did: Château Chenonceau!

It was cold... it even snowed! What else could be better than a big, old fireplace?

Frida and Mikaela "warming up" in Château Chenonceau.

An early whisper of spring outside Château Chenonceau

My trained architect eye directly found these drawings of Château Chenonceau...

Paris, oh, que je t'aime!

We've had a week of temperatures 5 degrees below the usual.

This is the view from our kitchen window a couple of days ago. The snow is all gone by now, since this still IS Paris, it's not made for snowy winters ( I mean: here people walk the strets in fashionable high heels, not caterpillar boots...)

Yippi-ya-yey! Bye bye ENSAPLV, I'm on vacation!

It's been a truly stressful end of semester for me, but I did it and nw I'm here: in bed with my newly bought french comic book (they have lots of "bandes dessinées", even for grown-ups here in France). It's a good way to pratice your French so I thought I could have it a go now when I'm free to read stuff other than french books about sustainable urban planning...

I have also developed a crush on green tea with mint flavour (sweetened with Birger's honey of course) since we went to an adorable café in a mosque last week, where they of course only served oriental, very hot, sweetened mint tea.

now I'll just continue to read my comic while zipping mint tea.

bonne nuit tout le monde!
