Well, Paris do have generally expensive hotels, but to camp a couple of hundred meters from the Eiffel Tower, in the smallest parc ever and in the middle of winter seems a little extreme to me...

Every first Sunday of the month all state owned museum's in Paris, I would guess there's a hundred or so, have free entrance fees, yippi!
